Policies & FAQs

Everything you need to know before your dog stays with us.

House rules, vaccination requirements, holiday hours, and answers to the questions we hear most often.

Check-in time

Bring your pet whenever it's convenient during business hours. We prefer arrivals before 4:00 pm but are happy to receive guests any time we're open. There is no additional fee for early or late drop-offs.

Check-out time

For pets who've stayed the night, our check-out time is 4:00 pm. Pets picked up after 4:00 pm are charged a flat $20-per-pet late check-out fee.

Sunday check-out

We're open for pick-ups and drop-offs Sunday afternoons from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. We've moved to a flat fee for Sunday pick-up and no longer charge a full night of boarding — instead, a flat $20-per-dog fee for pick-up after 4:00 pm.

Health requirements

Bring proof, before the stay, that your pet is up-to-date on these vaccinations:

  • Dogs: Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella (Bordetella every 6 months). Canine Influenza is strongly suggested but not required.
  • Cats: Rabies, FVRCP. Feline Leukemia is strongly suggested per your vet's protocol but not required.

We only accept pets that have received their required vaccines from a licensed veterinarian. If your pet isn't current, please have them updated by your vet at least four days before boarding. If your pet has no previous history of a vaccine, they'll need to wait ten days before boarding with us.

Fecal analysis & parasite prevention

Pets must have a negative fecal test, or be under appropriate treatment if a fecal is positive. If your pet is on a monthly intestinal-parasite preventative, fecal checks are required once a year. Without monthly preventative, fecal checks are required every six months.

Medical records are required as documentation that the monthly preventative was prescribed and dispensed by a veterinarian, and your pet must be on the preventative monthly.

No flea or flea dirt can be present. If flea or flea dirt is seen at check-in, medication will be provided at the owner's cost.

Holidays

We don't charge additional fees or surcharges for holidays. Our rates are the same every day of the year.

We're closed for pick-up and drop-off on major holidays: New Year's Day, Easter, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Our staff still works those days to make sure your pets enjoy their stay.

Holidays and summer get very busy and book up fast. Reservations during those windows may require a refundable deposit — see Deposits below — and proof that your pet is up-to-date on vaccines if we don't already have it on file.

Deposits

We don't normally charge deposits. When we do, the amount is $50 per pet per reservation (so one dog is $50, two dogs is $100).

Deposits are collected during our busy seasons:

  • March 1 – March 20
  • June 1 – August 31
  • November 15 – January 10

Outside those windows, deposits aren't normally required. We may ask for one case-by-case — for example, to hold a grooming appointment.

Cancellation & refunds

If we collected a deposit, here's how cancellations are handled.

During deposit season:

  • Cancel 96 hours or more before your reservation — full refund.
  • Cancel between 96 and 24 hours before — store credit toward a future stay.
  • Less than 24 hours before, or no-show — deposit is forfeited.

Outside deposit season (when a deposit was nonetheless collected):

  • Full refund if you cancel 24 hours or more before your reservation.

Medications

An additional fee of $1.50 per administration is charged for medications.
